Macromorphology (smell):
 
Small, dry colonies (1-2 mm in diameter).
Micromorphology: Small nonmotile coccoid rods (1.0-1.5 x 1.5-2.5 µm), which are sometimes approaching the shape of cocci (0.6-1.0 µm in diameter). Appear singly, in pairs or as short chains.
