Type strain

Type strain is the strain, which was used when the species was described for the first time and which was selected by the author as the type strain. A strain designation including superscript T (e.g. B78^T) shows the the strain is a type strain.

The original designation is first written (if it has been included in the field). The designations, which are used in ATCC (American Type Culture Collection), CCUG (Culture Collection of University of Gothenburg) and NCTC (National Collection of Type Cultures), are then listed.
